First live broadcast of Cydar EV in action

Posted in Clinical trials Cloud computing on 02 Nov 2018

This week saw another historic first for Cydar at the Aortic Live conference held in Essen, Germany. Surgeons Dr Tara Mastracci (London, UK) and Dr Fiona Rohlffs (Hamburg, Germany) streamed surgery using Cydar EV in two cases from an operating room in Hamburg to over a hundred cardiovascular specialists in the conference auditorium in Essen. They saw and heard first-hand how Cydar’s AI augments standard operative imaging, aids surgical navigation and is using machine learning to account for complex, deformable anatomy. The ease of use and simplicity of integration featured prominently.

Cydar’s CEO, Tom Carrell commented “These first broadcasts of truly automated image fusion are a significant milestone, showing how Cydar’s cloud computing and AI can bring real benefits to patients and hospitals. All credit to the amazing team at Cydar who over the last few years have crafted this technology to the scalable product it is today. And a special thanks to the surgeons and organisers of Aortic Live who enabled today’s demonstration”
